The Material Planner at ABB Oy, Smart Power, Vaasa handles end-to-end planning of inventory in excess of invoicing, from purchase requisition to customer invoice, assisting internal customer service inquiries.

Reporting to the Planning and Fulfillment Manager, you will set inventory parameters and inventory targets, while making sure that there is adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders.

Your responsibilities:
- Preparing purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Analysing and forecasting material needs
- Reporting on purchasing performance, time schedules and progress, and on the activity in general
- Monitoring and improving material flow from the supply network to the production lines
- Proactively challenging existing ways of working, proposing improvements to processes and work practices
- Calculating and maintaining inventory parameters in planning systems and ERP systems: safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies
- Evaluating excess and obsolete/aging inventory, and taking appropriate action with others to optimize inventory performance

Your background:
- B.Sc or M.Sc. in business administration or engineering, or relevant studies
- A few years of applicable work experience is appreciated
- Knowledge of purchasing and logistics, as well as problem solving methods
- You have good negotiation, presentation and social skills
- You are a committed person with a positive mindset and a true team player
- Fluent written and spoken skills in both Finnish and English
- Familiarity with SAP and MS Office
